Not every new product is a dream. A lot of them are a plan B.
Here's what I see around me. People lose their jobs. Finding a new one takes months now, not weeks. There are fewer jobs, more people want each one, and nobody offers the salary you had before.
So people start building something. Not because they always wanted to be founders. Because the old door is closed, and this one is open.
Add AI, and you get thousands of products made at the kitchen table after 9pm. Vibe coded over a weekend, posted on Monday.
I don't think it's bad. Some of these products will be great. But the market changes. More and more things exist because someone needed money, not because someone needed the thing.
And the question changes too. Not "can I build this?" Anyone can. But "does this need to exist, and why me?"
Do you see the same around you?
